Val’s primary function here is as facilitator, ensuring that all the elements that make up your day are coordinated so that the timing works and the day can run smoothly, without any of those awful hiatus which are all too common at lesser venues or with less competent coordinators. Val is always there; arranging, smoothing, tweaking and easing. Look at her and think of a swan – looking calm and serene but working furiously beneath the surface to ensure smooth movement.

But there are other coordinators at other hotels who are also excellent at their jobs. They’re not getting special mention here. Val is so much more than a coordinator. Her vast experience of the wedding ‘industry’ makes her the perfect wedding consultant. She encourages brides to use her as much – or as little – as they choose. She is there to help, not to dominate and her aim is solely to assist brides in getting the wedding they want.
